On Wednesday Adobe released the first public beta release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 on the Adobe Labs site. Super good news if you’ve got a license for version 2, right? Well, it’s better than that—this time around Adobe have decided that they are not going to close the beta process to those of you who do not already have a copy of the application! So there is nothing in the world to stop you from downloading, and playing with, the application (well, nothing except that the Mac version is Intel–only, so you will need a fairly new computer to get it running)…
What to do once you’ve downloaded the application? Well, if you are familiar with previous versions of Lightroom then you can find information about the new features (that they are letting us see) on the NAPP Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Beta Learning Centre website. If however you are completely new to Lightroom, the best way to get your head around the app is to watch the Luminous Landscape Guide to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 video training series. It will set you back £24.00, but—if you are a photographer—it will be some of the best money you ever spend!
Jamie and I will be taking you through some of the features new in Lightroom 3 in the lunchtime session on 11th November. Until then, enjoy…
Lee.
