I just stumbled across an art­icle on The New Yorker by Lauren Collins, about a retoucher called Pascal Dangin. It is part bio­graphy, part inter­view, and is abso­lutely fas­cin­ating if you have ever har­bored any curi­osity regarding the mystic art of photo retouching.

Lauren explains that a number of celebrities have such a high opinion of Pascal’s skill, that they keep him on retainer — to ensure that any pub­lished images of them have been retouched by Pascal first.
