I just stumbled across an article on The New Yorker by Lauren Collins, about a retoucher called Pascal Dangin. It is part biography, part interview, and is absolutely fascinating if you have ever harbored any curiosity regarding the mystic art of photo retouching.
Lauren explains that a number of celebrities have such a high opinion of Pascal’s skill, that they keep him on retainer — to ensure that any published images of them have been retouched by Pascal first.
